The Pandemic taught us many things and continues bring more truth to light. Unfortunately, the vast majority of humanity is not quite ready to confront the signs of the times (Matthew 16:3). Here, we ought to ask ourselves whether such brethren are simply blind or inherently rejects truth staring at their faces. For the truly blind knows nothing but darkness, if only there was someone to shine the light and liberate him from such curse. “The lamp of the body is the eye; if therefore your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!" (Matthew 6:22-23)

However, rejection of truth chooses the dark to the extent of fabricating “truths” from myths and will cease at nothing until all the mist of lies turn into the new reality.
"For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine but, following their own desires and insatiable curiosity, will accumulate teachers and will stop listening to the truth and will be diverted to myths." (2 Timothy 4:4)

I am guessing at this point you are probably wondering, “Where are the evangelists?” Where are the voices crying out the dessert, “Make straight in the wasteland a highway for our God!” (Isaiah 40:3). Or even better; perhaps you have been inspired to declare, “Here I am,” I said; “send me!” (Isaiah 6:8) only to find the enemy is bigger than Goliath and more possessed by evil than King Saul… in fact, he is: "The huge dragon, the ancient serpent, * who is called the Devil and Satan, who deceived the whole world, was thrown down to earth, and its angels were thrown down with it." (Apocalypse 12:9) Hence, every person who failed to fill his lamp and take extra oil for the journey now find themselves nearly stumbling in the dark that continues to envelop the face of the earth. And then there are those who simply shut their minds and hearts to truth and reason.

Let’s take a step further and look into how the enemy’s plans are unfolding. All eyes have been on the recent United States 2020 Election, a pivotal moment not for Americans but for the entire world. We, well most of us, have witnessed proponents of the Global Reset invest all funds and power to make sure the last beacon of hope bows down to worldwide tyranny.  With Joe Biden in leading the US, we see evils of abortion, contraception, homosexuality, physician assisted suicide, and human trafficking enjoy tax funding under the table. And who can ignore the baseless censorship of conservative and Christian voices and by the technocrats of Silicon Valley.  The deadly but mandatory “vaccination” which in theory doesn’t constitute a vaccine but more like a type of gene therapy, states on the label that “there is no FDA- approved vaccine to prevent COVID 19.”   

George Santayana asserted, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” (The Life of Reason, 1905). Indeed, history abounds in lessons, a true treasure trove for the wise. Holy Scripture as well provides deeper insight into events that shaped not only civilizations but also the faith of God’ people. The second book of Kings details the end of Israel as it has turned away from God's commandments and surrendered its heart and soul to idols, offering their children as sacrifices. Hence, God sentenced His people into hands of the Babylonians. In the year 597 BC, Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, and his whole army advanced against Jerusalem, deportation followed. This is where we find ourselves… at the brink of exile. Yet hope is not lost, only overshadowed. And if only we look, listen, and remain calm during the wait, we will hear the soothing voice of truth. "There was a strong and violent wind rending the mountains and crushing rocks before the LORD — but the LORD was not in the wind; after the wind, an earthquake — but the LORD was not in the earthquake; after the earthquake, fire — but the LORD was not in the fire; after the fire, a light silent sound." (1 Kings 19:11-12)

God, constant and unconditional, remains patient and firm. “Learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves, you know that summer is near. In the same way, when you see these things happening, know that he is near, at the gates. Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away." (Luke 21: 30-33)

A dear friend commented, “With all Humility, I think the rest of us who are watching closely for signs and messages are more like the three Magi who have a little bit more idea but still have a long way to travel. I think of those who do not know as much as we do, I see them like Shepherds who are faithful and yet unaware of the events unfolding until the angels announced the birth of Jesus. Some of us are called to be like Job, others to be like Moses and the Maccabees, still others will be like Daniel and his friends during the Babylonian exile. All of us waiting for mercy and deliverance.” This holds so much significance, we all see all the same scenarios unfolding right in front of our very eyes, daily.
 
Let me end with a CALL TO ARMS: Cleanse the Temple of the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Penance. Nourish your soul with the Bread of Life at Mass. Fuel your faith with Scripture. Remain steadfast in Hope close to the Mary, the Mother God as St. John did next to the cross. Pray the Rosary. Render true charity, serving and lifting one another through works of mercy.
 

Not acting on desire, immediate gratification, doing whatever one wants, living by the flesh and not the spirit, is a tough pill to swallow for the mainstream way of thinking. We see Pride messages everywhere these days, on clothing, commercials, and department stores. We see homosexual relationships in kids tv shows and in parades. The traditional family is even frowned upon. I saw a kids tv show where one character had a very stable home and was happy while the friend had a dysfunctional home. Guess who had the problem-ridden home? The home with a mother, father and child. The stable home was a gay couple and their adopted child.
 
Homosexuality nowadays is one of the strongest examples we have against choosing spirit vs. flesh. If only the LGBTQ community were teaching on how to fight the desires of flesh, and to choose spirit and God, what a different world we would live in. But they won’t advance Christian values, and neither will the media. So, it’s up to us Christians committed to Christ to teach, starting with the kids, what is natural law and why gay marriage is not acceptable.
 
The Catholic church has many communities and groups for gays and lesbians to find support in one another, in prayer; discovering how being attracted to the same sex can help them grow in their relationship with God. These groups teach gays and lesbians that authentic chaste love make them stronger, recognizing that love is so much more than physical; patience, learning, respecting the self, God, the body, practicing self-restraint, all of which brings a person closer to God. Let’s strengthen the traditional family and lets defend it. Let’s also promote the value of chastity.
 
“God wills you all to be holy. He wants you to keep away from sexual immorality, and each one of you to know how to control his body in a way that is holy and honourable, not giving way to selfish lust like the nations who do not acknowledge God. (1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, New Jerusalem Bible) 

I say listening because I did not say a peep! First, I couldn’t believe they were so against pro-life. Second, if you made a comment that was pro-life, you were immediately tagged as discriminatory, stupid, and best of all, “Oh Catholic.” Lastly, this was too much for my introverted self, as I felt “all against one” and that I was going to be attacked. Although I knew the words to say and how to defend myself and the Faith, I couldn’t. Was I letting my Faith down by not stating my points? I wasn’t sure, so I made it an effort that when someone mentioned something to do with the topic, I would say a little prayer. God has a sense of humor -- it was at this point, nearly 10 minutes after landing back in Miami, that I received a phone call from Father David asking me if I would write an article on pro-life issues. I could not believe it!
 
At some point, we as Catholics have experienced a situation like mine in one form or another. The bottom line is this, as Catholics we protect life from womb to tomb. Life is precious and it truly is a miracle. How are we formed so perfectly, how does it all work in such unison? We will continue to be faced with an endless list of reasons why we are wrong such as, “not allowing abortion is not giving a women her rights,” “we are enslaving women for forcing them to have a baby,” “you are a feminist who hates women,” “you are pro rape...” I am pro-life, and I am pro helping women; I think we can trust a woman’s capacity to work and to have children. Women are strong; and they can do both -- and an amazing job. Women are being undermined and manipulated to think otherwise.

The majority of women who have had an abortion know the repercussions of having sex. You can’t just kill a child because you “accidentally” got pregnant or decided it’s not the right time to have a baby. Yes, the topic of rape is a difficult one, but we don’t solve a wrong by committing two. There are so many stories of women who were raped and chose to keep their child. Why are they not out in the media sharing their story? Let’s not forget the more famous Roe vs. Wade case. She went on to give the child up for adoption and became a pro-lifer! God works in mysterious ways, if the timing is right for God, it’s right for you. I propose we plant more seeds of faith, letting go and letting God, and bringing people back to the goodness of human nature, the true meaning of womanhood, and the Bible’s teachings on human life.

Here is where I think the biggest problem lies, the amount of people living out a Christian life has decreased, and those who were brought up with Christian values have been mainstreamed to join the ideological herd. It is up to us to make the effort. Join a church group, make time to go to the blessed sacrament, attend Mass, become a CCD teacher, volunteer where the church needs volunteering, pray, join a 40 day for life group, attend rosary groups, make a movement in your parish, join forces and collect donations for babies to help the mother out, become an ear for someone to share their experiences with, help during and after birth, the list is endless.

We will never have time, but we can make time. We need to defend these babies and we must go out there and show that we are willing to help these babies and mothers who think abortion is the only way out. It is up to us and no one else. Don’t let people be swayed by what mainstream media is trying to sell. Defend life and defend your faith -- and try to do something extra. Don’t be scared to share your Catholicism. At the end of the day, we are teaching what Jesus Christ taught; we are upholding the eternal Law of God which nobody can change. We are taught to respect ourselves and others, we are taught to love one another, and do unto others as we want done unto us. God’s action is present when there is conception and life. We do not have the right to stop that relationship with God. We may not appear on the mainstream media, but everyday pro-life acts are powerful. Hopefully soon all abortion clinics will have people praying in front of them until the abortion mills are shut down. And the women who need help before and after birth will receive help. This is what WE can do; this is what it means to be Catholic.

The fifth commandment forbids as gravely contrary to the moral law:

• direct and intentional murder and cooperation in it;

• direct abortion, willed as an end or as means, as well as cooperation in it. Attached to this sin is the penalty of excommunication because, from the moment of his or her conception, the human being must be absolutely respected and protected in his integrity;

472. Why must society protect every embryo?– CCC, no 2278-2279
The inalienable right to life of every human individual from the first moment of conception is a constitutive element of civil society and its legislation. When the State does not place its power at the service of the rights of all and in particular of the more vulnerable, including unborn children, the very foundations of a State based on law are undermined.
